Plastics have made current life as we know it possible, however, their incorrect disposal and difficult degradation have led to an accumulation of this material in landfills and oceans, causing a global environmental problem and a great challenge in the search for solutions.

From this need arose the development of biodegradable and compostable plastics that present an alternative for various applications. As these plastics reach the end of their useful life, they biodegrade and return to the earth through composting, significantly reducing their environmental impact.

At Colarquim, we constantly research to adapt to the current market needs to provide custom solutions. That is how our new Bio-Masterbatch line emerges as a tailor-made color proposal for biodegradable and compostable plastics.

Su formulación cumple con la norma EN 13432 y es libre de metales pesados y componentes tóxicos. Por otro lado, dentro de sus principales atributos está que, además de ser biobasado (fabricado a partir de fuentes renovables como almidón de maíz y de yuca), biodegradable y compostables (compost casero), es compatible con la mayoría de resinas compostables, incluyendo PLA, PHA/PHB, PBS PBAT, entre otras, sin comprometer las propiedades o la biodegradabilidad.

Finally, it is important to mention that its application is suitable for different processes: film extrusion, blow molding, and thermoforming.
